To do this, you have to first copy all pages of your old passport book (whether used or unused), include your student certificate with 8 photos and submit with the form that the officer asks to fill. It takes one week to get it. After that you have to take your new book to the school or company that helps you get visa to change your visa papers from old to new book. Return your old book to the embassy only after you get your visa moved to your new book. Make sure you do not have to pay any tax if you are a student. Some officers there might ask you to pay. Try to argue them. Remember there will be different policies in each year. That's why it is advised to visit the embassy and inquire.
